These clients had been following my work and decided to hire me for their AMAZING LOFT APARTMENT.
How lucky am I to design such a cool space? This loft reminds me so much of Amsterdam.
I couldn’t be more happy to create a kitchen space that is functional and elegant, which honors the loft space and the historic building.

Since this is a historic building we have some restrictions, yet we will figure it out.
The flow is off, the kitchen is too small, the island has no function, and there is no entertainment value in the kitchen.

So many cool ideas are running through my head!

DESIGN ROUND I
Is all about discovering the kitchen and hallway space, find the hidden potential, and exploring all the opportunities and how can we make it the best kitchen ever!
Here are all the mood boards of the first Design Round.

In total 4 different kitchen designs.
Larger Kitchen, different variations, 48″ super-duper range and 45″ super-duper sink, looking at options to create an artic hallway.
And using that wall on the back side to create a home office nook.

Front of the building.

Side of the building

Material ideas.

And the super-duper sink.

DESIGN ROUND II & III
Is all about exploring the space even more. What is best lay-out for the cabinets in the island.
Working
on island and barstools.

Doing pre-shopping and picking out materials.
Visiting the kitchen showroom and also visiting the countertop warehouse.

VISIT WITH CONTRACTOR

FINAL DESIGN ROUND
The Final Mood Boards are always on a thicker cardboard, and these boards are a crucial reference during the remodel.
Also, the contractor receives the entire contractor file, that contains about 80-100 pages met details and instructions.

VISITS
For a large project like this.
I did 7 home visits:
-5x with the homeowners for everything design related.
-1x to do a walk-through with the contractor.
-1x to visit during the remodel and visit with the contractor.

SHOPPING TRIPS

And we visited 4 showrooms together.
