Excited to be staring this new furniture design journey with my clients.
The homeowners moved in 5 days ago and have asked me to help them with a new style for their new home. A home with a view over one of the lakes.
The prefer mid-century modern with a twist.
I have a blank canvas to start with, as long as we maxime seating space with view over the lake.
JULY UPDATE
I designed 5 different floor plans and each has an unique lay-out, yet they can all be mixed and matched.
*There are variations with the main seating: sectional or sofa.
*We have a variety of chairs that are placed in front of the window to either engage with company or simply enjoy the gorgeous lake view, or an afternoon glass of wine for intimate seating. Single chair, swivel chair, corner chair and leather/wood chairs.
*With every floor plans comes another color palette by using 3 different colored rugs: blue’ish to pick up the color of the accent chairs, pink’ish to mimic the evening sunset, or yellow to fresh up the sunny side of the room.
* We also have a “weird” space next to the staircase, as per the client request we will have a lounge chaise to do some morning reading.
* To encourage flow of the round we went with round coffee tables with matching end tables.
* We finished off the design with a choice of floor and table lamps.
Of course I will bring my big computer to show all designs in 3-D and walk through the different options.
SHOPPING UPDATE
We finalized on the design and furniture has been purchased. My clients picked design #2 with some elements of design #1.
It will take between 8-10 weeks to have all the big furniture in.
Tables, lamps and rug are planned for this week. Can’t wait to show you the final photoshoot.
