Dream Home: Part-2 Upper-Level Master Remodel Plan
Part two: the upper level.
My clients’ top priority was to have a laundry room upstairs and reconfigure the very impractical Primary Suite.
The original Primary Suite layout included several spaces: first, you would enter a catch-all/sitting room, then on the left was a carpeted area with a vanity and a broom closet for clothes. Behind a closet door, there was a small shower, toilet, and bathtub. To reach the Primary bedroom, you had to walk back through the sitting room, a distance of 40 feet.
I resolved that problem!
By eliminating the linen closet in the kids’ bathroom and another broom closet in the sitting room, I created ample space for a new entry to the Primary Bedroom.
This allowed us to move the bathroom into the sitting room, transforming the old bathroom into a luxurious closet. The newfound space became the much-desired upstairs laundry room.
Additionally, the kids’ bathroom received a complete makeover, featuring the largest soap niche ever—8 feet long (5 feet on the back wall and 3 feet on the side).
