Main Level Remodel with warm tones and Impressive Kitchen
My company is known for cracking the code of an impossible space.
And that is exactly what we did with for this Kitchen/Main living space.
My clients fell in love with this home, a lot with lots of potential. A home in the perfect location, on a greenbelt with a gorgeous green view, lots of space on the property and a huge deck, and room enough for their family with young kids.
But the décor and lay-out was weird, arches everywhere, but they were all too small for easy passing, steps up and steps down, sunken living room, and a maze at times, adding some safety gates to the mix and it became an obstacle course.
The kitchen needed the most help, originally from the nineties with a rounded trapezoid shape, a flat and very low ceiling, small windows and a pass-through window that was not even big enough to pass a plate through.
It looked like a lot of storage, because in this kitchen they used all 4 walls, but in the end, there was not enough practical space.
They knew they wanted to remodel their entire house right away. Next item on to-do list: find the right designer, who would help and support them on their journey, a designer with a creative mind and would show them more than 2 options. Even a designer that would take risks in the design.
When they saw my portfolio, they fell in love with my style and design process.
We know we would raise the sunken living room right away. And the walls were more decorative than supporting the roof. So, I had a lot of freedom to play with the entire space.
We looked at 4 different concepts with a total of 10 different floor plans, ranging from huge walk-in pantry to two islands, to keeping part of walls and completely open concept.
Then we narrowed it down to the final design my clients loved and could see themselves live in for years and years to come.
Adding two 7-feet windows in the kitchen to let in the light and enjoy the view, made all the difference in the world. Let in those rays of sunshine.
This entire main level is all one level now, the space is open: no more bumping into walls. The kitchen is transformed into a gorgeous, luxurious and functional kitchen, with a 12 ft island with lots of storage as well as cabinets on either end of the island, with room enough to cook and move around, have the kids do homework at the island, prep meals and entertain.
Upgrading to two large picture windows, demoing walls that were in the way, raising the floor, and adding drywall to the ceiling in some spots transformed this space entirely.
Making this Kitchen finally functional, luxurious, and balanced with the rest of the house.
This home now flows together and is aesthetically more pleasing by addressing the spaces as a whole to fit their lifestyle.
